PASSION (2)

In this article, you will discover what
PASSION looks and feels like!

When I am feeling passionate, I have a heightened sense of vitality, aliveness, vibrancy, drive and enthusiasm.  There is a warm excitement and an all-consuming focus on my sensations.  I have a sense of confidence, total concentration, and a keen awareness.

Expansion

A little known Generalized Principle is “EXPANSION LEADS TO EXPANSION, CONTRACTION LEADS TO CONTRACTION.”  This is similar to “WINNING LEADS TO WINNING, LOSING LEADS TO LOSING.”

The more you win, the easier it is to win. Most of us have experienced getting on a winning streak where one win leads to another, and each successive win becomes easier and easier.

Think about how you can apply these Generalized Principles to win more often – and to expand the things you want, while contracting the things you do not want…

Financial Crisis: Expansion

With the world embroiled in a global recession for the first time since the 1940’s, a lot of what we had accepted as “the way things are” has been turned upside down. Sure, there have been recessions in most regions, however it has been over 60 years since we had a global recession.

One thing a lot of people had taken for granted was that we could keep on expanding forever. This caused a bubble from over expansion when prices lost touch with fundamentals and in the end, turned out to be unsustainable.

Greed drove markets to higher and higher levels, and now that things have crashed back to earth, fear has driven (and continues to drive) markets lower and lower to such a level that we have, once again, lost touch with the fundamentals.

As you can see, we have swung between these two extremes that are driven by emotions at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Travel Broadens the Mind

One of the best ways to stretch your mind is to travel to different countries to experience different cultures and ways of life. Most people travel to places that are familiar, and in fact, return to the same places for vacation after vacation. If you live in North America, visit Asia. If you live in Asia, visit North America. Talk to the locals, visit local places and do local things.

I Will Believe it – When I See It?

Most people have the attitude, “I will believe it when I see it.”  This is the opposite of the visionary attitude, “I will see it when I believe it.” What is your attitude?

Fully-Realized, Self-Actualized

To be fully-realized, self-actualized means that we have to have alignment between our SPIRITUAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL and PHYSICAL dimensions. Most people are well developed mentally and physically – and are underdeveloped spiritually and emotionally.

Havingness – and the Upper Limit

Most people have an upper limit of what they feel worthy receiving. Once this upper limit is reached, they will reject or unconsciously sabotage in order to get rid of whatever it is they are receiving. You would think that receiving more would make you feel good; however, this upper limit causes us to feel worse and worse about ourselves as we receive more.

Expansion Brings the Opposite

Have you ever noticed that just when things seem to be taking off, something comes up to sabotage everything? This is a common and observable phenomena.

Often, when things go well, everything that is in the way of more expansion comes up to be dealt with. Many people think this is bad luck… it isn’t. Neither is it negative.  Instead, it is a great thing because you are finally getting the opportunity to address exactly what is in the way of more success.

Clarity

What is clarity and how does it apply to leadership?

Clarity refers to the clearness in what you are thinking and the quality of being clearly expressed and understood. As a leader, the clearer you are, the more effective you are. The more unclear you are, the more inefficient and ineffective your actions will be.

So clarity is critical to effective leadership!

How do you get clear? Is it a case of sitting down and thinking everything through thoroughly? In our experience more mental processing does not lead to more clarity… it leads to a reinforcement of the same thinking that was unclear in the first place!

To get clear requires a process of unthinking or unlearning in which the emotional and psychological layers are peeled off to reveal the core “truth.” This core truth or idea results in a cognition or “ah ha!”

The resultant clarity is palpable. Decisions made from this place are usually the right ones that lead to more clarity and more results.

The Ultimate Personal Development

If you continue a lifelong journey of improving and developing yourself, this can only lead to one place – LEADERSHIP. Most people are busy trying to get somewhere – rather than working on becoming someone. As you improve your ability to communicate, to confront difficult situations and people, to postulate future realities… Your ability to lead, persuade and inspire increases in proportion.
