Good point that no two waves are the same, just as no two markets move the same, but near enough for technical analysis purpose.

Good point about ebb… As a surfer my experience with waves is that if you understand and feel the cycle and rhythm you can go with the flow of each session. Anytime I’ve tried to not pay attention to what the current cycle and rhythm it’s a struggle. Which is your point about fractal… cycles within cycles.
No two surf sessions are the same so trying to predict what’s going to happen purely on historical evidence is dangerous… it can only be an indicator of potential or what’s going to happen – not an absolute. I’ve been worked over many times by me assuming what the wave will do based on my previous experience of other waves on the same break. RULE 1 – no 2 waves are the same!
The best sessions and waves are when there’s a feeling of oneness with the moment… time stands still, you go with the flow of that wave face and then the zone opens up in appreciation of the attention given to that moment.

In my lessons on good trading, I have been taught to watch out for not only the flow but the ebb.
The market moves like the waves , ebbing and flowing, also cyclical, and fractal.

Lovely quote. I can totally relate. The opposite is also true that when I use force, am focused on the ego looking good, or distracted flow doesn’t happen, I get discord. Part of my journey has been to trust and move with the flow.
